• CMEA recommendation (5 MByte file) on arts education as a core subject for graduation.
  Dear Band Parents,
     The music and art students of Connecticut are faced with a problem. Our new CT Commissioner of Education, Dr. Mark McQuillan, is considering not making the Arts part of the graduation requirements. The Connecticut Music Educators Association is recommending two credits in the Arts for graduation.
     See above(CMEA recommendation) to find all the information regarding this proposal. I request that you write a letter supporting the two credits in the Arts for graduation to Dr. McQuillan, Governor Rell, Senator Robert Duff, and State Representative Lawrence Cafero. The taxpayers of Norwalk need to immediately address this situation before the Arts once again are placed on the back burner of our children's education and future.
